Monster swings
The friend I was knitting for agreed that Rebecca Danger’s monster swings were really cute, so I made 3 for the baby’s room.
Place mat bags
Do you remember when I found these place mats? Four of them make a great tote bag, and use belts for the handles and you have an upcycled bag made of 99% reused materials. Save the belt findings to make great bag closures.
Total cost for the two bags: $4.30
Brownie Cake
Today is my beloved’s birthday. He loves brownies so this year I made a round white cake (2 layers) and then made brownies in a round cake pan. I put a thin layer of frosting between the layers and the brownie became the middle layer. I did not frost the sides, because I wanted to go light on the frosting. It was not an even cake, but it is tasty!
Pastel plaid mors bag
Do you remember this fabric? It was a table cloth that I got for .90 at a thrift store. Now they are two mors shopping bags. http://www.morsbags.com/
Thrift store Find
This chest of drawers is one of my all time fav thrift store find. It has dove tail drawers, real wood back, solid construction, cherry stain and dust shelves. For $83.00 and only a three block trip on the top of the car it was a steal.
First signs of spring
I took these pictures when it was the first signs of spring. And even though it has only been a couple of weeks spring is here in full force. Still these are beautiful.
Knitting a lot
I have been knitting a lot for a friend who is having a baby girl. So I get to knit all those cute things that I have always wanted to do, but had no excuse to do. But…. since they are a gift you guys don’t get to see them until my friend does. But I will share them with you, I promise.
Book fair a great success!
We got the totals from the book fair- our sales were $6,800 up over a thousand dollars from last year of $5,500. Those are a lot of books!
Original knitting patterns on Rav
I have contributed 3 original knitting patters to Ravelry. So far the response has been good. I have had 85 people add the seahorse to their favorites and 55 people add the elephant head lovie.
Thanks all!
