PTO Book exchange is a success again!

My son’s school is 97% low income, and the PTO is new and not well funded so we needed cheep (or better yet free) ways to improve the school. So we decided to do a book exchange. The first two days a kid brings in all the books they don’t want to read anymore and the PTO gives them a ticket with the number of books they brought in on it (for example 6) and their name and room number. The next two days we take over the caffeteria and lay out all the gatherd books for kids to choose new to them books. This works really well, we had books left and the kids were happy. The only problem is that the kids bring in picture books and want chapter books so we need to suppliment in.
